There's a lot of work to do for equal rights- non-negotiable reproductive rights, equal pay, paid maternity, etc but is 'girl power' the right way to label our movement for equality?
The animation, internally dubbed 'hurl power', was designed because we're at a point where 'girl power' is not sufficient (and 'girlboss' is not either - see below). Perhaps we should call it what it is - women's rights, gender equality, etc. As we're not girls - we're women who probably should not differentiate ourselves with gender specific hashtags.
